Regional Operations Manager -- Washington

Department: WellHaven Campus
Location: , WA
Salary: $90000 - $150000 Per Year

Position Summary:

The Regional Operations Manager (ROM) provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for a portfolio of WellHaven Pet Health hospitals. This role is responsible for driving consistent operational execution, developing and coaching hospital leadership teams to meet operational budgets while ensuring alignment with WellHaven’s mission, vision, foundational pillars, and standards of excellence.

The ROM partners closely with Practice Managers and Principal Doctors to co-lead hospital teams, supporting the delivery of high-quality medical care and exceptional client service while maximizing efficiency, productivity, and profitability. This position works cross-functionally with senior leaders and campus (corporate team) partners offering significant exposure to executive leadership, along with meaningful growth opportunities in an expanding organization.

Responsibilities:

People, Team, and Culture

  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with the individual practice of leadership and team members to promote engagement, collaboration, and an inclusive, high-performance culture.
  • Mentor and coach Practice Managers and Principal Doctors by setting clear expectations, providing actionable feedback, and supporting ongoing professional development.
  • Partner with WellHaven’s People team on support surrounding talent acquisition, team member retention, performance management, and change management initiatives.
  • Conduct regular in person, on-site hospital visits to gather feedback, identify opportunities, and strengthen team effectiveness and support leadership accountability.
  • Champion WellHaven Pet Health’s mission, vision, foundational pillars, ensuring cultural consistency across all hospitals within the region.

Client and Hospital Experience

  • Partner with hospital leadership to understand local market conditions, client expectations, and community needs.
  • Develop and execute strategies that drive hospital growth, client loyalty, and community engagement.
  • Lead and develop hospital leaders to meet performance targets through empowering hospital leaders with the resources to drive revenue growth and effectively manage costs.
  • Support and promote WellHaven initiatives related to client experience, patient care and team based delivery.

Financial and Operational Leadership

  • Collaborate with the hospital leadership to develop, manage, and achieve budgets and financial performance goals.
  • Monitor, analyze, and communicate key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess hospital performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Support the financial health and long-term sustainability of practices within the region through disciplined, data-driven decision-making.
  • Influences and drives medical initiatives and operational priorities with the hospital leadership team.
  • Leverage enterprise systems to improve operational efficiency, consistency, and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with all WellHaven Pet Health policies, as well as applicable to local, state, and federal laws and regulations.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of leadership experience operating in a multi-site capacity.
  • Veterinary Industry experience is strongly preferred.
  • Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM) certification preferred but not required.
  • Experience with Covetrus Pulse preferred but not required.

  • Genuine passion for veterinary medicine and a deep commitment to the well-being of pets, clients, and team members.

Location & Travel Requirements:

  • This role requires approximately 50% travel to hospitals within the assigned region.
  • Candidates must reside within the assigned region. For the Washington role, residence in Western Washington is required.
